Improving the quality of teachers and their enthusiasm for work is an important content of China's current education reform. Class teachers are a special group in faculty, who are responsible for organizing class activities, coordinating teacher to give lectures, shouldering the management of school, communicating parents and the society, etc. The class teacher plays a crucial role in the future growth for students, influencing their knowledge acquisition, learning methods, the formation of habits, and teamwork training, especially the personal behaviors and morality. How to do scientific and rational assessment of the class teacher's job performance and thus improve their level of performance and teaching effectiveness is of practical research significance.This thesis firstly states the theory of performance and performance measurement, through social surveys and summarized previous research results, analyzing the problems of performance evaluation of high school class teacher which includes the inaccurate positioning, the unreasonable content, the incomprehensive subjects, the lack of feedback and so on. Thus, this thesis puts forward the ideas for improving performance evaluation by setting up a correct assessment idea, establishing a scientific evaluation index system, incorporating the assessment into the performance management process, improving the principles of assessment, implementing dynamic assessment, creating a favorable assessing environment, linking with the human resources management and other elements, etc.The reasonable setting of evaluation index system is the basis and key for the implementation of performance evaluation, thus this thesis attempts to build a scientific and rational performance evaluation index system for high school class teacher. First, based on the interviews of high school class teacher and the references of related materials, it designs the performance evaluation index system for high school class teacher, including two 1st-grade index, five 2nd grade index and twenty-five 3rd grade index. Second, it makes certain the evaluating standard of index. At last, it uses the AHP method to determine the weight of each index and then verify that the weights small-scale research setting is reasonable. In order to ensure smooth implementation of the performance evaluation, this thesis designs the performance evaluation form for high school class teacher, and from the perspective of performance management system, further gives corresponding suggestions for improving the performance evaluation of class teacher in high school.
