With advent of the information age, it has brought great impact to collegeteaching.In our country,most colleges and universities have started to build andimprove the information infrastructures.The construction of information resourcesincluding Multimedia Classrooms,Campus-Wide Education Network,NetworkLaboratories,Educational television system laboratories,Databases,Online EducationalResources, and so on, has become an important indicator to evaluate universities. Inthe information age,people are demanded to learn to study,learn to survive,learn to dothings and learn to cooperate.However,traditional teaching methods are stilloccupying a leading position in the university classroom at present;Theory andpractice are separated in the teaching process;Teaching methods are not rich enough;Atmosphere of the class is too boring;Most teachers pay more attention to knowledgeeducation, but less to students'morality;The education ideas are too old;A number ofknowledge and skills they learned fall behind the social practice. Application ofinformation technology brings an opportunity to the development of colleges anduniversities in time.It needs the reform of university teaching urgently,to innovativeteaching mode,to change the traditional concept of education and teaching,and to givemore emphasis on the development of multiple intelligences of students. Theacademic authority of educational technology in China Mr. Nan has mentioned in areport, "Learn to innovation is the first mission of the contemporary college students",and pointed out that the contemporary college students should learn in the threeworlds: the experience world,the languages world and the virtual reality world.Teachers should guide the students to innovative learning better, with the help ofinformation technology tools, using a variety of teaching methods for teaching is oneof the ways to education reform.The theme of information technology in teaching is amore effective teaching method.To carry out the theme-based teaching or learning canpromote the students'comprehensive capabilities, and improve the teachingeffectiveness. Design for instructions is a key element to carry out the theme teachingin the information technology environment. In the study, which took a lot of literatureresearch and case design, we have proposed the process and strategic of thematicinstructional design in the information technology environment. There are the main contents of this study:The first chapter described the research background,research status quo,problem,the content,the purpose and significance of research,and research ideas and methods.The second chapter described concepts and features about thematic instructionand thematic instructional design;analysis of theoretical basis of thematicInstructional Design and their guidance for instructional design guidance;at the sametime,analysis of support provided by information technology environment to thethematic instructional design of university,and summarizes the principles of thematicinstructional design in the information technology environment.The third chapter,by analyzing the basic program of thematic instrucion and thethematic instructional design provided by the domestic and foreign scholars,combinedwith theories related with the instructional system design,teaching in colleges anduniversities understandded by on-site lectures and interviews as well as experience ofthematic instructional design and put forward process framework and theme-baseddesign strategy.universities'the thematic instructional design in the informationtechnology environment.The forth chapter, summarizes and analyzes the process of Thematic InstrutionalDesign to design about "Web in Education"course on "Online Education SupportTools" topic;evaluates and analyzes the thematic instructional design program.The fifth chapter,summarizes the findings and pointed out the direction forfurther research.
