With the continuous expansion of the scale of China's higher education, the unemployment problem of college graduates came to exist. The employment status of college graduates were infected by various factors which were reflected in the mentality and trends of the college graduates, and completely determined the finall results. This paper mainly studied on the employment structure of graduates of Jiangsu province in the transition period.Based on the linkage of the industrial structure, higher education structure and the employment structure,it took the employment status of college graduates in Jiangsu Province as the pointcut,focused on employment structure of graduates of Jiangsu province ,then analysised the problems in employment of college graduates and their causes.On the basis of the predicton of the demand of the graduates in Jiangsu province by using the method of grey system, the paper dicussed the optimization of the employment structure of college graduates in Jiangsu province.The major work and conclusions of this paper were as follows:1. On the basis of the present oemployment situation of college graduates in the Jiangsu province, the paper studied on the employment status and changes of college graduates in the Jiangsu province, as well as the environment effects. Based on the employment situation and relevant datas of college graduates in Jiangsu Province in recent years, from the point of the hierarchical structure, professional structure, regional structure, sex structure and the ownership structure,the paper summarized the characteristics of the employment structure of college graduates in Jiangsu province and concluded the causes of its formation: First, as the economic growing, the growth of employment of college graduates is not obvious; Second, the contradictions between the higher education structure and socio-economic structure highlighted; Third, labor market segmentation caused the imbalance of the region and ownership structure of employment;Fourth, the excessive education caused the employment structural imbalance.2. Based on the society and economic development, industrial restructuring, as well as human resources planning of the Jiangsu Province in recent years, the paper took the employment status of college graduates as the original data, creating a gray prediction model, predicted the demand of the college graduates of diffierent levels, diffierent regions and different flow units. Then it received the following conclusions: First, in the next few years, the supply and demand of specialist were in a relatively balanced state, while the graduate and undergraduate students showed a surplus situation; second, the demand of Guangdong, Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang and other coastal and developed areas had become saturated, the demand for college graduates of Jiangsu province itself especially the northern and central Jiangsu, as well as the central region of china will continue to increase; Third, the public units became competitive, non-public economy will become the main capacity of college graduates.Through the analysis of the results of predictions, respectively, from the hierarchy structure, professional structure, regional structure, sex structure and the ownership,the paper dicussed the the optimization measurements of the employment structure of college graduates in Jiangsu province and made relevant suggestions.3. The regional economic development and industrial structure determined the demand for college graduates. The coordinated development of regional economy is largely dependent on the regional industrial structure adjustment and upgrading by accelerating the labor flow in the industry, it also lead to the change of the employment structure. The employment structure, once change, the human resources structure was bound to a corresponding change.In turn it will cause the adjustment of the higher education structure, drawing the development of higher education. In other words, the restructuring of higher education will be a certain lag, making a deviation between the actual employment structure and the demand structure.The Optimization measurements of the employment structure were proposed to solve this problem.
