Constructing The Contemporary University Educational Ecosystem

Since the 20th century, as the improper use of the natural environment has led to ecological imbalance and also has been threatening the survival and development of human beings , the fifth-largest civilization of human society——"ecological civilization" has been coming into people's lives. As a relatively independent micro-environment which belongs to the social environment, university educational system( influenced by the social ecological crisis ) has been various imbalances mainly in three aspects:1)Heavily in hardware construction, lightly in software construction;2) Emphasized in system construction, ignored in culture construction;3)Heavily in knowledge inculcation, lightly in self-educational cultivation. This research follows the rule of higher education development, use the method of documents searching, theoretical analysis and questionnaire survey to study the relationship between the various elements of the university educational ecosystem. This paper properly analyzed the ecosystem structure, scientifically elaborated material, energy and information exchange in this system, and found out the factors that affect the balance of the system, coordinate the various imbalances within the system(which could correctly analyze the ecological functions of this ecosystem),the main research contents as follows:Firstly, through searching the concerning literature we know that the research about university educational system is very little, but the concept or research purposes of quality education, campus culture and campus ecological culture(the ecological principle is used in the research) is similar to that of university educational system. This chapter that introduced research methods, basic research ideas and innovations has also reviewed current status of these research.Secondly, on the basis of analyzing the current social background, we can understand what quality college students should have. Through questionnaire survey, we also found out which qualities is more important than others. Combined with the reality of the educational system, this chapter analyzed its shortcomings and also proposed that ecosystem harmony theory should be applied in constructing a new educational system(contemporary university educational ecosystem)in which highly qualified talents could be cultivated.Thirdly, this research applied the ecosystem harmony principle to analyze the current status of the university educational system and followed three requirements of the ecosystem harmony principle to construct the contemporary university educational ecosystem theoretically. On structure constructing, this research has believed that two elements( subject elements and object elements)has been existing in the new educational ecosystem. The concept of this new educational ecosystem was also proposed out. On function constructing, through interpretating the meaning and function of various elements and three process of educating, the operating mechanism of university educational ecosystem revealed.Fourth, the last chapter(which has been finished on practical construction) is mainly to deal with some practical problem of the university educational ecosystem, because a system can not maintain a balance state permanently. It requires artificial maintenance which is equivalent to the purpose, the dynamic mechanism and the principles to be followed of the practical optimization in the university educational ecosystem. In chapter II, we know the shortcomings of the practical educational ecosystem , so the final section of this chapter concludes a targeted remedial measures accordingly.The research we did was only qualitative research(the inputs and outputs of a variety of materials flow, information flow and energy flow in this system have not been quantified),so in the process of constructing the educational ecosystem, the lackage of scientific data as the scientific basis was inevitable and was also the bottleneck in this research. The construction of university educational ecosystem has great significance in building a harmonious socialist society and harmonious campus, and could also greatly enriched content of a variety of related concepts and operating mechanism of university educational ecosystem. The practical optimization measure of this ecosystem also has great value on resolving the problems appear in this ecosystem.
