In recent years, with the frequent development of global trade, English as an international business language has become much more important, so many universities and colleges have set up BE courses. The society has a growing demand for BE talent, and the study and discussion of BE talent'training become more and more urgent. The"Teaching Requirements for Undergraduate Education of BE"(for trial implementation) promulgated in 2009 has become a programmatic document of regulating the construction of BE in China. Therefore, how to adhere to quality education, to cultivate the talents with good-profession, strong-ability, and high-quality is an arduous task for colleges and universities, moreover, how to effectively combine the reality of market conditions to develop the work ability of BE students also become one of the most important issues our higher education are facing. This article introduces the development of British Core Skills and the curriculum theory under its guidance, and learning from the successful experience of British Core Skills development, tries to explore the training of Core Skills besides professional ability for undergraduate BE majors in China. Through the questionnaire survey, combining the employers'needs and students'self-awareness, and analyzing feedback data, the paper concludes five Core Skills which should be emphasized in the training of the undergraduate BE students, that is, teamwork, problem solving, withstanding pressure, interpersonal skills, and responsibility. On the basis of analyzing the British Core Skills development and the current BE teaching in China, this thesis proposes some suggestions for strengthening the training of Core Skills for undergraduate BE students: 1. Establishing a multi-sectoral cooperation development system; 2. Setting up the standard system of Core Skills for BE majors; 3. Improving the teaching evaluation system directed at Core Skills; 4. Exploring the specific implementation of Core Skills training in the practical teaching.
