A Study On The Current Situation And Administration Of The Mcntal Health Education In Schools

Abstract The mental health education in schools is an important part of EQO education and will be beneficial to the students' self-development, self-integrity and self-maturity. To better the work and its practice, the dissertation makes a study on the current situation of the mental health education home and abroad, looks back on the history of the mental health education in America, Hongkong and Taiwan and clarifies their uses for our reference. In the view of the author, the development in school mental health education and the renewal of education concept have close relation with the increasing seriousness of the students' mental problems. Through systematical review and comparison, the author analyzes the existing problem on current mental health education in schools in our country and points out, 1. The problems of professional construction lie in the dim clarification in the position of the education, the lack of teachers and weak realization of the mental health education in schools. 2. The problems of the methods to carry out the education lie in the tendency of regarding the school mental health education as the education of political thoughts, of emphasizing the study coaching, whereas neglecting life coaching, of emphasizing coaching students, whereas neglecting parents and teachers,etc. In the research, the author, after summarizing and analyzing the practice in Fuzhou school mental health education in recent years, points out that in practice the multi-subject integration must be adopted, and puts forward the assumption of constructing in our city the three-level net, i.e. the educational administration, the school authorities in different levels, and the teachers and mental counsellors. In this way the excellent promotion will be achieved in the mental health education in schools. In the dissertation the author also expounds that the education must be penetrated in the whole course of the school teaching, and the activities in education must be spread out through different angles. At the same time the other methods must also be adopted, including the systematic construction of supervision and evaluation, teachers' management and training, etc. My name is Yan Xing.
