Since the new century is a century of knowledge economy To enhance the education quality of the Chinese language is a task of top priority. And at present the key to achieve this goal is optimizing teacher?s ability construction. Chinese teachers of the new century should possess the following abilities. o I The Ability of Teaching Chinese Knowledge in Line with the Principle:; of Psychology. The primary task of teaching is to explain the subject in an educational way. To develop this ability, teachers are required to, according to the principles of educational psychology to turn their own knowledge into teaching ability, and in this way, to teach students in a most acceptable way. II The Ability of Controlling Teaching. It refers to teachers?ability to control classroom teaching, which requires them to keep learning, to study the teaching process and finally to perfect their teaching. III The Ability of Creative Way of Thinking. The ultimate task of all-rcund development education is to cultivate students?creative way of thinking and teachers are required to be open-minded, broad-minded and creative, so as to stimulate and inspire students while teaching. [V The General Ability of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Only by obtaining this ability can teachers set an example for students and teach them well. V The Ability of Mastering Modem Teaching Skills. MainI~ by Computer. Undoubtedly, with the help of such skills, classroom-teaching will be more vivid and more attractive, thus more colorful and successful. So teachers and students will become good company and live in heavenly harmony. VI The Ability to Teach Students How to Learn .Chinese Teachers ought to help students adopt the idea that 揂rt is long while life is short ?and tell them that learning should not be stopped. So they must learn how to learn. Besides, teachers should also help students improve their Chinese study quality to ensure their ability to 搇ive and learn?and to unceasingly raise their Chinese level.
