The human society has entered the 21st century, the rapid development of contemporary science and technology supplies us with opportunity on one side, and makes us face challenges on the other side. In order to gain the initiative in economical, science and technology competitions, every country in the world is devoting itself to education reform. Many countries are earring forward the process of education modernlization so as to improve education quality and high-quality citizens. During the reforms of education. curriculum reform is particularly crucial.After the foundation of the People's Republic of China, our elementary education curriculum has passed a series of revision and adjustments according to the different needs of political economical and social developments in different periods. In the 1990s, the government promulgated the curriculum plans of 9-year compulsory education full-time primary and junior middle schools, which brought activity and subject together into the school's curriculum system~ Later the.government stipulated that the primary and middle school's curriculum is composed of subject curriculum and activity curriculums. A new adjustment has been made since 2000 that the synthetical practical activity curriculum system. This shows that our government has played much attention on activity curriculum.The education ideology of activity curriculum can be traced back to the times of Platon and Rousseau, but it is the Chicago experimental school run by Doorway in 19' century set up and put activity curriculum to use for the first time.Till today the activity curriculum is still an important part of American primary and middle school curriculum. AItho~ugh the history of Chinese study and~ practice. of activity curriculum theories is not long, it has always been a major question for study. It is clear that in the practice of activity curriculum, the quality of teachers affects directly the results of the implements of activity curriculum. As a new curriculum style, activity curriculum makes a higher demand on teachers, so it has a contain current significant of synthetical practical activity curriculum.In the process of curriculum, the teachers give full play to both the transmission and development of human's culture, ideas, and the development of students. The roles of teachers in subject curriculum and synthetical practical activity curriculum are quite different. This article holds the view that the teacher's roles in the implement of synthetical practical activity curriculum are more concrete, in details the roles are director learner and artist, etc. We can say that whether the synthetical practical activity curriculum is effective has much to do with whether the teachers fully understand the meanings of those roles and whether they can act those roles well.Though synthetical practical activity curriculum lays stress on the students' independent study and life experience, it doesn't mean that the effects of teachers are reduced. In a sense, the teachers have to reach a higher requirement in order to guide2the student more effectively. This article also holds this view that the teacher should have new curriculum outlook, new stttc!ent outlook and the new activity content outlook. The teachers are required better practical ability and research ability and to study the synthetical practical activity curriculum, the students and themselves.Besides, we think that the teachers' guiding penetrates the whole process of the implement of synthetical practical activity curriculum. The teachers must fully understand the process and give full play to their role of guiding so as to make the curriculum effective.
