With the frequently increasing and updating of knowledge and information in modern society, education of high quality and high efficiency is becoming an urgent requirement at large. The combining of learning-teaching theory and network technology produced the network-based education. It can be a complementarity of normal education or becomes a standalone approach for education. As network-based education can improve the quality and efficiency of education, it is becoming widely used. Since teaching is an art, it requires for highly innovative thinking and is not only a heavy and complicated working that includes considerable repetitive laboring, but also time-consuming and energy sapping. For the purpose of release teachers and let them focus their attention on the improvement of teaching quality, the best way is to utilize modern computer technology. That is just the main purpose of this article that mainly deal with the designing and developing of a Network-based Education Supporting Platform.This article begins with the modernization of education. Out of the analyzing of present situation and problems of network-education, it proposes the necessity of the Network-based Education Supporting Platform. Then by describing the related theory and the changing of teaching learning model, it obtains a network-education model. After that, it introduces the analyzing on the requirement and designing which explains the necessary part, overall infrastructure, data structure and detailed development model of the system. And all these build a strong basis for the platform. Then explains the developing tool, running environment, the implementation of some important part and shows some user interface. And finally it forecasts the future trend.
