Postmodernism is a cultural ideology, which was prosperous in the 60s of 20th century. The problems it brought with were highly related to the existence and fate of modern human, therefore it was inevitable to affect the field of curriculum by providing a new horizon for the development of the theory of curriculum. On the basis of researching this ideology, this study tried to examine the modern curriculum theory anew hi order to construct comparatively systematical postmodern curriculum ideology and provide fully constructive advices for the ongoing reformation of fundamental education curriculum.The dissertation consists of four parts.Introduction. In this part, the reason for putting forward and the significance of the study are analyzed; postmodernism and postmodern curriculum are definited and the basic development of postmodern curriculum is introduced.Part one discusses the basic ideology of postmodernism. The discussion is developed in three dimension: basic theory which systematically analyzes the main points of postmodernism; ideology of subjectivity constructs a postmodern perspective of subjectivity featured with mobilability, ecologicality, mutuality, and creativity on the basis of analyzing the malpractice of modern ideology of subjectivity; ideology of knowledge which refused the closed and rigid perspective about knowledge of modernism and proposed the pluralism and organism of knowledge. The essential idea provides a foundation for the following constructing postmodern curriculum theory.Part two constructs postmodern curriculum theory. In this part we discuss thetransition of curriculum purpose at first. Then we put forward opening, diversity, creativity and internality as the features of postmodern curriculum, on the basis of which we depict the connotation of postmodern curriculum-curriculum as the present opportunity provided for students, and the creation of students under the opportunity. After that we thoroughly discuss the new style and features which are appearing in the postmodern curriculum objectives, content, implementation, and assessment under the perspective of curriculum and propose the ideology of objectives featured with opening, creativity, Mobil ability, ecologicality and bearability; the ideology based on multiculturalism, ecologicalism, and constructionalism; the ideology of curriculum implementations as a hermeneutic and creative, intersubjective and dialoguing process; the ideology and methodology which orientate pluralism, aesthetic spirit and attach importance to the diversity and mobilability of objectives.Part three discusses the postmodern transition of our country's fundamental education curriculum. On the basis of using as reference and transcending the ideology of postmodern curriculum, we comprehensively investigate the present condition of our nation and other countries in the world and then give some systematic advices for our country's ongoing reformation of fundamental education curriculum.
