People always look one's writing level as an essential standard of measuring his Chinese level since a long past. But in recent years the benefit of composition teaching has not been good enough. There even appeared the tendency of worse and worse. So many Chinese scholars appeal for enormously, "the situation of composition teaching allows of no optimism."Seeing this, this paper researches and analyses the situation of middle school composition teaching and finds there are 6 problems in composition teaching. 1. Treat finishing the teaching of texts as necessary assignment while composition teaching as unnecessary. 2.There's always plans for teaching texts while no plans for compositions. 3. Take seriously the teaching of ways of writing while lightly the experiences of life and the accumulation of language. 4. Respect the amount of composition while reflect the appraisal of composition. 5. Too many solicit articles competitions affects the normal teaching of composition. 6. It's too stubborn to cure that teaching is just for exams.The reasons why these problems came into being are related education ideas, people's appraisal in society, families and some form masters and popular checking ways.To resolve these problems should start with 3 aspects. First, open all-sidedly, namely the pattern of openly-composition teaching. That is, the content of composition should be open not only to students but also to social life. How large the life space is, how open it should be. Second, all should take part in the development of all students' composition level. From guide students to join it actively to putting into it wholly, then reach to the ample development of each student. Third, optimize comprehensively. Teachers should teach scientifically so as to optimize each link of composition and exercise to the biggest level. Then reach to optimize the whole process of composition teaching and exercise finally.These are some of my thinking the situation of composition teaching. I hope it can help middle school Chinese teaching to develop composition teaching.
