Reading is an important ability .At present time,there are great divergences on the research of Chinese reading ability. Altogether there are three different views. First, considering "Understanding" as the kernel; Second, considering "Intonation" as the kernel; Third, considering "Thinking capacity" as the kernel. From the exposition to reading ability since the founding of our People's Republic most outlines of Chinese Teaching of Senior middle school, understanding is recommended as the kernel of the reading ability structure system. In fact there is too much limitationto this system. It not only can't develop the students' reading ability. We think that the reasonable structure system of reading ability not only is fit for the law of the development of the students, body and mind, but also can show the basic character of reading teaching and the responsibilities of senior education by the reproach of document. The system of the "Thinking Capacity" as the kernel is feasible and ideal after contrasting Chinese theory and experience of reading ability structure with other countries' and combining my own teaching experience.
