In this article I intend to study Senior Chinese for Taiwan using analysis of its texts and analysis of comparison. Senior Chinese teaching materials for Taiwanfall into three parts-the main textbook "Chinese", supplementary readings"Basic Teaching Materials on Chinese Culture " and "Outline of Chinese literature". The article chiefly deals with the main teaching materials "Senior Chinese", which is divided into units in types of literature, varies in number from 13 to 15 lessons. Each unit contains two lessons, in a mixture of classical Chinese and prose written in vernacular. First place is given to the argumentations in classical Chinese, most of which cultivate the mind. Lack of political consciousness in modem Chinese, great attention is paid to both the education of traditional ethics and the development of local culture. Much stress is put on the argumentation and narrative prose in forms of literature. Compared with the mainland' s textbook , the number of articles in Taiwan' s textbook is smaller. With plenty of class hours, various teaching activities can instantly be done in class. Taiwan' s Chinese textbook with many illustrations is printed in color; therefore both its pictures and texts are excellent and interesting. And the high -quality paper is not easy to damage.
