The issue of the view on children existing in current Chinese education field seems to have been solved, but it is far not to have been disposed correctively in fact till now. It is just due to think about it, the author decides to choose the problem as a point to cut-in, and adopts a special visual angle of historical survey and comparison between China and the West, inquiring the evolution of the view on children both in China and the West vertically, analyzing it from educational axiology, educational teleology and educational equality horizontally. The author tries to draw some lessons as references and revelations for the people who are responsible for kids' education through the reviewing, comparison and reflecting.Except of preface and conclusion, the thesis includes six parts:Part one tries to analyze the connotation, conformation of the view on children and all factors, which affect it The view on children is the sum total of adults cognition, attitude and other concepts about children. Its conformation includes the view of state leading one's, academic theory one's, demos consciousness one's and etc. Political and economical systems, religions and science study may put great influences upon it.Part two makes tentative approaches into the historical evolution of the view on children in ancient time. It divides into four phases: Remote antiquity; Period of Pre-Qin Days in China and Ancient Greece and Rome; Middle Ages in Europe and China before 15 century; Enlightenment Period of Ming and Qing Dynasty in China and Renaissance and Reformation in the West We may found out so many similar whereas unlike features through the inquiring and comparison.Part three probes the historical evolution of the view on children in modern time. The view on children in Chinese was still stale then, though a few new factors appeared with it when the foreign forces invaded into ChinaThe view on children in the West possessed some new connotation after the Discovery of Children, the Psychology Movement in Education and the Establishment of Kidology.Part four analyses the historical evolution of the view on children in 20th century. Child-centered thoughts began to bloom and widely spread in the time. The author points out that the socialistic view on children is the most advancing one in Chinese history, though some traditional and out-of dated views on children still influence people's mind in nowadays. The affairs of protecting children rights have made great progress than any other time.Part five tries to compare the view on children in China and the West from theeducation dimension. The author point out from the point of education axiology, in which the Chinese incline to Organon than to Ontology when the Western try to integrate both ones. The Western may do a better job than that in China. In the matters such as the education equality including the issues of equal rights between teachers and students and the rights between male and female students, it seems that more progresses have been made in the West which worth for references for us.Part six explores the intrinsic quality of children firstly, pointing out that Children exist as natural, social, and spiritual beings. Then analyses the modernized concept of connotation of the view on children. Finally, indicates the way to realize the modernization of the view on children and the education of children.
