The early years of the 20th century is an important period of the social transformation in China, as well as a critical period of the introduction, propagation, and creation of Educational Philosophy in our country. Study on Educational Philosophy in this period is the footstone of the foundation of Education Philosophy discipline in China.With historical explanation and logical method, this paper, based on the review and analysis of the evolution of the study on Educational Philosophy in the early years of the 20th century, trys to reveal the features of the evolution, and to summarize the merit and demerit. It also refines some information that enlightens the study on Educational Philosophy in our country at present.This paper contains the preface and the main body, including four aspects. The first three parts discussed three phases of the evolution: firstly, 1901-1920 the origination phase; secondly, 1921-1930 the developing phase; thirdly, 1931-1940 the prosperity phase. Summary was given in the fourth part. The merit: The study founded the base of Educational Philosophy; promoted the junction of Educational Philosophy between China and foreign countries; and provided reference pattern. The demerit: Chinese Educational Phi losophy depended on foreign countries excessively; and was lack of the innovation. The enlightenment: We should deal with the relationship between tradition and contemporary, and the relationship between China and foreign countries; Educational Philosophy should change from transplantation to creation.
