This article tries to provide tentative suggestion for the further development of instructional technology after a research about instructional technology framework. Current definitions and frameworks are mostly comprised of static structure and the logic relationships among various components. They didn't explain too much about how the interaction among these components lead the instructional technology forward. On the other side of the spectrum, current history study within instructional technology's territory shed little light on domestic situations, thus didn't give enough correspondence to current issues.The author put forward his theory based on previous research. Encompassing the instructional technology into three dimensions, the author specifies the technology dimension, the institution dimension and the value dimension, as well as the chemistry among the three dimensions. The author then goes on to explore how their interaction influences the development of the domain and further introduces the concept of Marginal Evolution. He argues that the changes happened in all the three dimensions should be conducted in an evolutionary instead of a revolutionary way.The author comes up with some reviews concerning a few topics of great interest to him.
