A Study Process Questionaire for Aircraft Maintenance Technicians has been established in this research, which is of good reliability and validity. As a result of the research, two kinds of learning motivations and two kinds of learning strategies are found to be existing in aircraft maintenance personnel, which are correspondently named Practical Learning Motivation, Superficial Learning Motivation, Superficial Learning Strategy and Practical Learning Strategy according to the meanings of the items contained. The analysis shows that in training employees who have practical motivation tend to adopt practical learning strategies, and those who have superficial motivation tend to adopt superficial learning strategy.The research reveals that practical motivation and learning strategy play the most important role in aircraft maintenance personnel, only a minority of them adopt superficial motivation and learning strategy. It also reveals that the practical motivation or superficial motivation of aircraft maintenance personnel who are of different ages, positions, education and working years is significantly different, however, the difference of two kinds of learning strategy is not significant.The employees whose age is below 25 are more likely to adopt motivation than those whose age is between 26 and 35. Working staff are more likely to adopt practical motivation than those who are lower management. Those who graduated from academic schools are more likely to adopt practical motivation than those graduated from colleges. And those whose service length varies from 6 to 10 years are more likely to adopt superficial motivation than those who have less than 5-year employment.In addition, employees who are of practical motivation and learning strategies think positively towards the current training management, while those who are in favor of superficial motivation and learning strategies think negatively.
