Transformation is a basic way of mathematics thinking which can be used to solve math's problems. The teaching of transformation is being one of the highlights in the teaching of ways of middle school mathematics thinking. How to avoid the harmful tendencies in the teaching of transformation, such as being too general, or being to specific? These harmful tendencies are actually concerned with the teaching target and its role of the transformation.Firstly, in the view of thinking methodology, this paper has discussed the basic meaning of transformation, enforcing approaches of it and the positive and negative aspects of it. Then based on the above mentioned theoretical analysis on transformation and the relevant learning theories in modern cognitive psychology, this paper has discussed the influence of the teaching of transformation on achieving the teaching aims and course targets of middle school mathematics, that is to say, the value of transformation to the mathematics teaching. Concretely speaking, we put it into three points: (1)It's favorable for us to make the students from scientific way of thinking and thinking ability.(2)It's favorable for us to better the students' cognitive structure in mathematics.(3)It's favorable for us to deal with the relationship between laying a solid foundation and trying to be creative. Finally, through the analysis and retrospection of the classic teaching cases, this paper has further proposed the following teaching strategies which embody the teaching value of transformation:(1)Cultivating the consciousness of transformation;(2)showingthe thinking process of transformation;(3)Using transformation the multi-levels to form conceptual structure of network;(4)Making full use of the positive aspect of transformation and finding creatively thinking elements during the process of transformation.This paper tries to supply some certain theoretical bases and orientation in value to the teaching of transformation, and so to strengthen the macroscopic orientation in teaching practice and its effectiveness in operation.
