The Analysis On Present University Students' Moral Quality Status And The Study Of The Countermeasures

The main current of present university students' moral quality status is healthy and upward, but still exists some problems not to be ignored. The main expressions are: the substantiality of value outlook, the thinness of social responsibility, university students are "extremely self-centred", the poorness of social morality, the disconnection of cognition and behavior, materialization of job application and study initiative.The reasons on present university students' moral quality are completicated, the coming of global economy, shifting social patterns and net informative world, technological revolution has caused double effects on students' moral outlook, emotion and behavior. The mingle of eastern and western culture has intensified the contradictory and complexity of students' moral development. From the angle of university education, there exists several problems: "the First Place of Moral Education" exists in name only; the goal of moral education is over idealistic; the contents arrangements of moral education is less reasonable; the methods of moral education is too single; the working staff of moral education is not stable and weak in self-quality. All these are the important reasons on present university students' moral quality. The defects of the students themselves are the inherent reasons causing the present situation of university students' moral quality.To improve university students' moral level and their comprehensive moral quality, we need countermeasures. First is to erect the clear new concept and fix the proper goal of moral education; second is to diversify and develop the contents of moral education; third is to improve moral education methods; fourth is to strengthen the group building of the moral education working staff; fifth is to guide the students to better their self-cultivation. These are of practical importance and great meaning not only in the improvement of university students' moral cognition level and their comprehensive moral quality, in the enhancement of university moral education level, but also in the carrying out of general plan "morality administers country" and the enforcement of "citizens' moral building implementation outline".
