Since the end of the 20th century there have been great changes in the world today, such as the development of the scientific technology of information and computer, the formation of the global economic community, the trend of polyarchic groups and a variety of cultures. With these developments the educational theories and practices are also turning on a diversified pleasant look for us:1) Schools are not the only places for education. The open policy and system of education causes the society and the schools to bear together the responsibilities of education and thus a network of the dimensional education is coming into being.2) For the time limit education is no more divided into stages but it is through one's life.3) For the content, the educational materials provided by the teachers and the textbooks are not the only ones and even not the major ones for the students to study.4) For the educational medias and methods, textbooks, blackboards, chalks and the explanations of the teachers are no more the main teaching aids and ways.5) For the aim of education, the development of a man's mentality and spiritualization is most of all important rather than passing on knowledge.As some predictions say that the 21st century will be an era of learning and information, the education in the 21st century will not provide the learners with the set-up knowledge any more but will create a new style of learning and character for the learners. The essential task of the school education is to teachthe students how to learn, how to work, how to get on well with others and even how to lead a pleasant life. Therefore, the change of the function for all the primary and the middle school teachers is rather more urgent than eVer. The new functions demand all the primary school and the middle school teachers to:1) become the internal authority for the students but not the external one.2) become the facilitators to the development of the students but not the interpretations of some knowledge.3) act more as an artist for the teaching and learning activities rather than as an only organizer and administrator.4) become more characteristic of the educational researchers for learning.5) to function more as inspirations for the learners.After the introduction of some problems of the functional changes for the teachers and the analysis of the causes to these problems, four ways to deal with these problems are proposed:1) to change the teachers' education views.2) to carry on more professional trainings for the teachers.3) to build and develop an encouraging system for the competition of the teachers and to think of ways to motivate the teachers to work hard.4) to lead the teachers to take an active part in the revolutionary reform of teaching in classroom.
