With the development and improvement of modern sprint, the skills of sprinter become increasingly improved and more conforming to the principles of anatomy, physiology and exercise biomechanics, accomplishing motions in the most effective and economical way. The high coordination of the whole body and relaxation of muscles are the base of accomplishing motions economically, frugally and effectively, because the muscle relaxation in sprint can make the running athlete's muscles contract and relax according to the most economical and effective skill standards, by which the energy material is taken good use of, the unnecessary energy consumption decreased as much as possible, the body's energy developed at the largest extent and the optimum speed maintained for longer time. The important position of muscle relaxation in sprint has been attached high importance by foreign experts and coaches who have attained some positive results. We can see from the internal materials on sprint training that quite a lot of experts and coaches have also realized the importance of relaxing skills in sprint, but the results are not satisfying, especially on the young sprinter's training, for many coaches pay little attention to it and lack rich experience and effective means on how to develop the athletes' relaxation ability. In order to discuss the means on how to effectively improve the young sprinters' relaxation ability, we have eight months' tracing research regarding ten sprinters in high school as the research object. Before the training, the author first gains a preliminary idea of their basic skills, basic techniques and relaxation ability. In the training process, according to the athletes' skills, technical ability and relaxation ability, the thesis combines physiological indexes with coaches' experience and athletes' subjective reaction, from three aspects as skills, body quality and metal quality to reasonably arrange and adjust the training plans. (1) From the aspect of skill, to pay more attention to the formation of right skills and the concept of relaxation consciousness, and ask sprinter to understand his motion during the running by himself and form the right muscles energizing feeling. (2) From that of body quality, to strengthen the development of frail parts' strength which can help the whole muscles' balanced development, and pay more attention to developing sprinters' co-ordination, pliability and flexibility. (3) From metal quality, to ask for sprinter's concentration on his training, forming excellent motion rhythm, building reasonable speed structure and learning self-regulation and adjust the right spiritual state before competition.The research methods of experiments, documentation, consultation, statistics and so on were used in the thesis. The training plans and indexes before and after the training have been recorded, measured and analyzed by statistics.The result shows: It is significant to pay much attention to the training and development of the young sprinters' relaxation ability, selecting effective training methods, which fit their training features for the continuous improvement of skills, the equitable distribution of energy and the heightening of achievement during the course of training. (1) During the eight months' systemic training, there is not a case of sport injury. (2) From the outside look of the body movement, after the eight months' training, instead of the painful facial expression, the stiff action of joint, inflexible muscle, and small stride length, which take place during the midway of the sprint just before the training, the athletes' skills have been enhanced obviously: the shoulders and arms relaxing, steps being wider, the swing being active, the center of body being higher. In a word, the whole motion was light, harmonious and smooth. (3) All the athletes' qualities as harmonization, flexibility, sensitivity and strength developed proportionately.
