Happiness,as the ultimate object of the value which is chosen by human inevitably, is also the proof of a man's being of a human ,but it is considered as a difficult philosophical problem by either a philosopher or an ordinary person that what happiness is. So, happiness can be said an ancient topic but always with something new. To understand of happiness is to understand human life. Although we have got the answer of the riddle of Sphinx, it is an eternal impulsion that we answer and explore the question of "who human being is". After renaissance, man have get rid of the shadow of god, but the elevation of ration made us become an appendage of our reason, so far, everyone is concerned about the existence crisis and the loss of value. Especially, the state of existence that the postmodern society showed us even threw us into a purgatory of life and psyche. Any person, even he is not very sensitive, if he can have a reflection on the reality can easily find: the human being has thought that wealth and technology can bring us happiness, but we became a group of tramps in the spiritually waste land for losing our root of existence, and the self-banishment of non-rationality made our life's original drive impotent, a man became but a dry rotten "mummy"; the declination of spirited culture and the wild spread of consumption culture brought the generation of "single-dimensioned human". The human's psyche can't transcend any more. It can only rush between misery and emptiness. The alienation of the relationship made a person become another's wolf and hell. Education, as an activity of becoming a human, is definitely concerned about the understanding of life. So, the loss of the feeling of happiness will have an impact on the educational field. Loss of happiness in education and the misunderstanding of life are but the two sides of one coin. Therefore, we should redefine our understanding of the human's life. Our education should direct its attention to the human's life and to the human's living world. During this process it should promote human life and show the variety of the human's living so as to achieve the spiritual consummation and fullness, i.e. a happy life. This article, from the angle of humanism and on the basis of explanation of happiness, expounds how education leads students to happiness. It consists of four parts: Part I discusses the connotation of happiness. It reviews the understanding of happiness from the angle of history of philosophy of both home and abroad. And then it expounds the concept of happiness from the angle of humanism, thus makes a foreshadowing for the understanding of happiness education.Part II illustrates the ideas of happiness education. It begins with the interpretation to the concept of human's life. It in turn becomes the theoretically basis for the establishment of happiness education. In the end, it constructs the idea of happiness education from three aspects, namely, paying attention to the life, directing to the living world and promoting the spirit. Part III reflects on the unhappiness in education nowadays, which can be divided into four parts: the appendage of knowledge; the lost of personnel character, the lost of life's dignity, and the alienation of the relationship. Then, it points out the reasons for these phenomena: the effects of intellectualism; shackle of adult culture; the loss of value-ration; the misleading of consumption culture. Part IV discusses explicitly how to realize the pursuit of happiness education: (i) the establishment of the aim of happiness education; (ii) the principles of happiness education should follow; (iii) the acquirement of the happy feeling during the course of happiness education.The continuous transcendence of life is the source of life's significance, and it is also the source of happiness. If education means to realize happiness, it should pay attention to the human's life, to the promotion of it and should make the human life significant and valuable in the limited time and space.
