With the acceleration of our country's urbanization, more and more migrants flood to developed metropolitan cities. Most of these migrants are diverted rural labors, mainly pursuing economic benefits in cities. The number of migrants increases year after year and the time they stay becomes longer and longer. Migrants have made big contributions to urban economy, society and culture, but the problem of their basic living space has not been effectively solved.Under this background and out of the principle of society fairness, based on fully investigating and analyzing migrant habitation condition in developed metropolitan cities, from a planning professional's points of view, this work tries to propose strategy discussions for solving migrant habitation problem in developed metropolitan cities, and hopes to finally find new ideas to solve this complicated society problem.This thesis contains 6 chapters:Chapter 1: introduction. The chapter presents this research topic's background and purposes; summarizes relevant domestic and international researches; introduces thesis content, relevant concepts and research approaches; and describes the research's framework.Chapter 2: First summarizes our country's population migration motivation, migrant composition and habitation behavior characteristics, then investigates metropolitan migrant habitation models, habitation condition and urban living space distribution, and analyzes current problems.Chapter 3: Specifically concentrating on several types of migrant societies, this chapter investigates and analyzes current conditions and characteristics and formation mechanism, discovers some inevitability and inherent positive factors on one hand, and analyzes current outstanding problems and the impact it has on urban environment on the other hand.Chapter 4: Based on discussing migrant habitation condition in developed metropolitan cities and emphasizing the importance and urgency of solutions for this issue, proposes our country's migrant habitation development goals. Borrowing relevant experience from other countries solving migrant habitation issue, we discuss the strategies to solve this problem in term of government guidance, housing policy, house provision, management, etc.Chapter 5: Discussions about relevant solutions. First investigates how to determine city population and to improve corresponding public infrastructure; from urban integral and harmonious development point of view, discusses the feasibility of migrant habitation balanced distribution, and proposes initial framework for this balanced planning; Finally proposes the development, construction and management of migrant allocation and conglomeration areas.Chapter 6: Conclusions. Summarizes the thesis, and comments on some drawbacks of this thesis.
