In the late of 1980s, China began to carry out Principal Responsibility System among primary and middle school, which caused the focus of the education management to move down.Almost at the same time, western schools began to practise a new education management model: School-based Management and with the guide of this new idea, many western countries started to reform their school management system and made a great effect.Western School-based management ideas play an instructive role on China's educational management system reform, particularly the undergoing Principal Responsibility System. This thesis attempts to explore something suitable for Chinese situation to solve problems in detailed practice.The thesis consists of three chapters:Chapter One discusses the history, basic ideas and management models of the school-based management.Chapter Two elaborates the significance of the school-based management in China.Chapter Three meliminarily explores the strategies of implementing School-based Management in China, coupled with the features of Principal Responsibility System in China and the School-based curriculum practice with the guide of the School-based Management idea, hoping it can shed light on the later school management.
