The coming of the information era and the increasing of international intercourses make English a language worldwide accepted. Every nation is strengthening and innovate its fundamental education, especially the teaching of English. The new curriculum standard requires the improvement of the student's ability of actual use of language, it further complete the system of teaching and evaluation in the senior middle school. The task of the middle school curriculum is: further clarity the purpose of study on the base of the compulsory English learning, cultivate the ability of handling, analyzing and solving problem and obtaining information in English, especially the ability of thinking and expressing in English. The English course of the senior middle school should supply the student with ample choices and enough room to express himself with regard to the student's personalities and need of development, further enhance the patriot spirit and awareness of the national responsibilities and widen the student's knowledge.As one of the output activities, writing is always emphasized in the teaching of English language in Senior Middle School. The writing ability of students shows whether they can use it freely or not. After about 10 years' English teaching, I have accumulated some experience and opinions about the cultivation of writing ability. At present the new curriculum standard has set up new requirements about the English course in senior middle schools. To realize the goal of quality education, I introduce the concept of'Task-Based Learning" into the teaching of English writing with regard to the requirements of the new curriculum standard and my teaching experiences. It can convert those basic knowledge in the use of language into the ways t of English teaching and promote the information flow among students and participation in learning by their cooperation and competition in the process of finishing the task.
