With the higher and higher demand of high quality agricultural intellectuals in the development of national agriculture and rural economic development, our national high grade agricultural education is presently faced with new challenges. The teaching effect of ideological and political education on agricultural college students is the focus and difficult point of current theoretical research of ideological and political education. Improving this effect is an important subject demanding urgent solution in agricultural college students' ideological and political education at present. Based on the analysis of agricultural college students' ideological and political status quo and the education related, adopting such methods as ideological and political pedagogy, dissemination science, psychology, "participate in" theory, "participate in" research methods, this article makes a relatively complete analysis on the main factors that influencing the effect of ideological and political education. These main factors include such respects as educators and agricultural college students, education content, education methods and education environment, etc. The analysis suggests that these main factors all have important influence on the result of agricultural college student's ideological and political education, but the difference of their influence was not remarkable. The analysis also indicates that college student's own factors play a crucial role in the course of ideological and political education, and it is the main factor. Some countermeasures and concrete suggestions are made to improve the education effect at the end of this paper: (1) Ideological and political education mechanisms that agricultural college students participate in should be set up; (2) College students should be inspired and guided to carry on self-education, and the function of their independent education should be strengthened; (3) Education environment should be optimized, and a harmonious education environment should be developed through joint efforts of the families, agricultural colleges and society; (4) Building of the ideology and politics educators' team should be reinforced and the quality of these educators should be improved; (5) Content of ideological and political education should be enriched and innovated constantly; (6) Teaching of "Two lessons" should be further strengthened and reformed to improve the effect of the "Two lessons" education; (7) Methods of student's ideological and political education should be improved and innovated frequently; (8) Agricultural colleges, offices with student's work and political cadres should give further play to the function of education and service of the network.
