Near upon a century, the problem of the classical Chinese teaching is incessantly being paid attention to, much more now when the reform of Chinese curriculum is increasing. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to clarify matters in theory. Only in this way, it is possible to find the measure to solve it.I think the four factors as follows are the respects to clarify matters of this problem. Firstly, the language is the complex of instrumental character and the humanity; Secondly, Chinese is ideogram; Thirdly, the importance of the works written in classical Chinese is particular in China; Fourthly, the education and the curriculum bear sociality. How to know the springheads of this problem rests with the factors above-mentioned. During the 21st century, the issues as follows are the springheads of this problem' s representations. First, how to make people know and inherit the ancient culture of China? Second, who should make best of classical Chinese to promote the developments of the modern Chinese and literature? Third, during the course when we bring up the students to be the modern, what function can and should the classical literature and the classical culture achieve? There are some differences as follows overlooked frequently when we discuss the classical Chinese teaching in middle school. Firstly, there are not only relations but also differences between the value of the works written in classical Chinese and the classical Chinese teaching, namely the value of the works written in classical Chinese has twoness. Secondly, besides this, the value of the classical Chinese teaching in different phase of education is discriminative. Thirdly, the viewpoints of the same person at different times and of different person at the same time are diverse. In the paper, I have analyzed the defects aforementioned, and I attain the conclusions' as follows based on the analyses. First, the value of the classical Chinese teaching in middle school is the foundation when we discuss the classical Chinese teaching in middle school. Second, the essentiality of the dispute about the classical Chinese teaching in middle school is to make the students become the ancient or the modern. Third, the foundation of corroborating the value of the classical Chinese teaching in middle schoolis the education guideline: "face to the modernization, face to the world, face to the future" . This many a day, the language has been regarded as a tool, the language curriculum has been deemed only to teach the students how to use the language. So in the Chinese syllabus the purpose of the classical Chinese teaching in middle school has been prescribed as follows: "to make the students have the competence of reading the simple classical works written in classical Chinese" . The texts of classical Chinese have been considered as approach or instrumentality. I think this purpose is unscientific and irrational. Now, the worth of the classical Chinese teaching should be to enhance the students' levels of the culture and the literature, we should base on the humanity to prescribe the purpose of the classical Chinese teaching in middle school, the texts of classical Chinese should be the content of the Chinese curriculum.Taking one with another, we should know variously the classical Chinese teaching in middle school over again. The most important is as follows. Why has the classical Chinese teaching been becoming the focus disputed? There are historical, social and theoretic springheads. Considering the problem of the classical Chinese teaching, such as the purpose of the classical Chinese teaching in middle school, we should bethink of these springheads and bringing up the students to be the modern. I hope my research may have the value as follows. Firstly, I try to expurgate the mistakes of the dispute about the classical Chinese teaching in middle school.
