Algorithm is becoming a part of the Mathematics Curriculum Standard of High School in China. This thesis is concerned with a theoretical study on the definition of Algorithm, the curriculum value of algorithm and the Algorithm mathematics in middle school in some developed country, and an algorithm lesson study about instuctional design has been made in LOGO-based microworlds in high schools . The results show:(1) Algorithm idea is required by the modern civilians in the information society, charactered as finiteness, definiteness ,input, output, effectiveness playing role in the computer science, motivating the development of mathematics. The study conforms the students should master the algorithm idea, reach the goals of Algorithm curriculum.(2) Five developed countries are referred that there are Algorithm content in mathematics curriculum in high school, namely Britain, France, America, Japan and Germany, which are arranged through three ways , just integrated with mathematics, with computer and as a independent course.(3) LOGO is recognized as a good learning tool by specialist because of its powerful drawing tool named turtle, and of its language property such as modularization, structure programming, expansibility, interaction and flexibility.(4) The research made by the author about the lesson study of the Algorithm teaching design in LOGO-based microworlds also indicated: operating with LOGO , it can inspire students' passion of the Algorithm study, deepen their Algorithm idea and mathematic concepts, cultivate their creative ability.(5) There are three types of Algorithm instructional design for us to choose according to the content and the teaching model, which are based on the configuration, development and understanding of Algorithm, thediversification of Algorithm, the modification of Algorithm .(6) We should follow four principles in Algorithm teaching, namely letting students design Algorithm by themselves under the teacher' s leading, inspiring their learning motivation of Algorithm under the drive of questions, putting emphasis on the design of learning setting and evaluating their Algorithm learning from different views.Conclusively, the study indicates that the entrance of Algorithm in curriculum of high school is necessary and the teaching design of Algorithm based on LOGO software is feasible and effective.
