The study is based on the development of northwest Agricultural Vocational Education .The writer tries to search for the developing pattern and future way by studying the case school. The paper gives full approval for Gansu Lanzhou agricultural school's great contribution and achievement. Then the paper analyses some reasons, such as the circumstance variation of vocational education etc, which cause the case school to meet so many difficulties and challenges. The paper points out the reasons why the development of Gansu vocational education is so slow by investigating the case school, and gives a probe in to the effective measures to improve the present situation and prospect of its development.The paper mainly apply "the methodology of qualified research" to reveal the faculty, setting-up of specialized subjects, students recruit and employment and school construction, etc.It consists of 4 parts: First, the paper reviews the long-standing historical development of the case school, and study its developing background; then, it studies the present development of the case school in the new era; thirdly, it points out many challenges which are met by the case school at present, such as shortage of running funds, lack of subjects' rationality, difficulty of recruiting students and weakness of teaching power; and the last part explores the measures and ways to solve the problems.The main part of the paper is the problem-researching and measure-taking. It analyses the external and interior factors which can decide the exist and development of the school, such as the national policy on vocational education is not so close to the local economy and lacks fidelity sometimes, etc. The writer wants to explore the inside and outside roots by searching for the insufficient development of agricultural vocational education, to promote it to serve for local economy to take some effective measures, those are: the policy of agricultural vocational education should conform to the local actual situation; clear the relations between the liberal education andvocational education; idea-changing is the motivation to promote its development; rational setting-up of subjects is the guarantee to gain the success; high-level and united faculty is the supportive power to develop steadily; publicize agricultural vocational education; varied career-guides are the effective measures to promote the employment; putting the manufacture ,study and research together is the long-distant way of the development.In all, the northwest area must strive after more supports and policies from government actively and construct its own educational connected system, it can obtain the long and healthy development, so as to promote the economical development of the area.
