A lot of seniors in Chinese language teaching field have paid attention to the importance of integration. They have made great efforts in theory and practice. However, disintegration in Chinese language teaching is one of the main problems for several decades. The process of teaching has become the disintegration of many basic knowledge points such as listening, speaking, reading, writing, rhetoric, logic, culture , grammar and so on. This will cause the dislike to teaching and learning, the decline of language attainment. What's more, persons will lack creative thinking, cooperative consciousness and open view. It is hard for them to take the challenge in future society. THE STANDARD OF CHINESE LANGUAGE COURSE FOR FULL-TIME COMPULSORY EDUCATION(draft) clearly brings forward "develop the ability of integral cognition and cultivate the good sense of language. It emphasizes that trivial analysis and repeated practice must be avoided. Chinese language teaching must attach importance to reading aloud, accumulating, feeling and edifying. The integration in Chinese language teaching is brought to a higher level in the new century. This essay focuses on the phenomena and reasons of disintegration, shows the bases of theory in integration, summarizes the practice of integration in modern teaching and brings out tow questions. The aim is to have the coterie abandon the unilateralist in teaching and establish a concept of integration in Chinese language teaching. At the same time, we devote ourselves into the practice of integral teaching and help students develop the ability of language.
