metacognition has great effect on students' academic achievements. The level of one's metacognition is one of the most important factors which affects solving the problems smoothly or not. The students with learning disabilities are poor problem solver, they frequently lack the necessary metacognitive knowledge and skills. I made a plan for training the metacognitive knowledge and skills in different methods to the students with learning disabilities in the mathematical problem solving: A. Advise students to ask and explain the question to each other in groups; B. Train studens doing exercises by means of "5 steps" ; C. Teach students to get a habit of turning over to think after working out the problems. My research showed that the variety of metacognitive knowledge and skills led to different effect and result in the mathematical problem solving. The results of research showed that: (1) There were significant differences between mathematically gifted and mathematicall disabled students on metacognitive knowledge and metacognitive skills. (2) The students with learning disabilities have improved greatly in the kills and knowledge of metacognition after training. Most of them have made some progress in solving mathematical problems.
