Study On Enhancing The Education Of Sustainable Development In The Teaching Of Biology

The deteriorating ecology has caused the global concern. The sustainable development was putting forward because of the rapid economy and ecological disturbance that is close related to the education. The essentiality of the Sustainable development is " human-based education" and the fundamental goal and the basic motive power of the society lies in human being themselves, so sustainable development requests the modern people to the qualified for some modernistic qualities, which include science and technique qualities, human cultural qualities, ecological consciousness and the entire and sustainable developing outlook on value.The biological teaching is one of the most significant fields in school education in which there are different levels of targets and all kinds of elements, such as knowledge, experience, attitude and skills. Base on the above, we put forward the topic that is enhancing the education of sustainable development and training the talented persons having modernistic qualities. The essence of training the talented persons who has modernistic qualities is to organize the science and technique and the spirit of humanity effectively in the vision of the sustainable development. There is a natural relationship between the Biology and the sustainable development, and a lot of factors of humanistic education are contained in the Biology. After an investigation, we find out some problems coming from the student's sustainable developing consciousness and status of modernistic qualities that should directly affect sustainable development. This article demonstrates that the training of student's modernistic qualities in biological teaching is workable and necessary through the theory and the practice. There are some paths and measures for training of student's modernistic qualities. The following are the main paths that we adopted: enhancing in the classroom, infiltrating out the classroom, and constructing the campus ecological culture. The following are the main measures that we adopted: to convert the traditional concept about the science, developing, and education; to carry out the training of human-based, student-subject, and teaching base on material to make students to get the capability of learning permanently; to carry out ecological teaching following the open, equal, and process principles; to carrying out the STS teaching by exploring fully the factors of the STS teaching from textbook and developing greatly the curricular resources.According to the response of the student, we combine the reforms of the teaching content and method with the reforms of the teaching way to improve the teaching process in the biological teaching, and we have attained good teaching effects. It is necessary to continue studying that we can really train the talented persons having modernistic qualities.
