Knowledge Management And Improvement On University's Core Competence

Knowledge management is a new kind of management theory, which is based on the viewpoint that knowledge has value and it can produce value. To university, its basement is to regard its knowledge as the most important strategic resource, and to make it the key of improving its competence to grasp and use its knowledge as possibly as it is. University's core competence is a complex system with many factors, and it is an organic entirety made of university's core factors, which are based on a special creative ability of long-term competition superiority and sustaining development. In this article, those two are connected together in order to look for a more reasonable management model to realize university's core competence and be able to win in the competition. By researching, the author found that university's core competence is based on its knowledge. This strategy can come true by the meanings of knowledge management. By researching to some of Chinese university, this article mainly discussed the following problems, such as the interaction of macro-strategy and recessive-knowledge: the relationship of university location and belief construction; the mission of knowledge management and the source of competition: the symbiotic system of outside of university; the observation to knowledge management and university's core competence from its inside: the realizing degree of core competence and the meanings of knowledge management by strengthening management system; improving university's core competence by setting up knowledge -sharing system to come true the transformation of university strategic management.
