To improve teaching quality all-sidedly and make the students able to reach the request of the syllabus is the goal that teacher's sports of high education to pursue. Because of the existence of factors affected by traditional teaching thought, teaching method and student's individual difference during teaching, The contradiction that accorded with request of most students and also met with the specific student's need appears in the collective teaching organizational form; in the addition, the constant enlargement of enrollment scales in university, student's basic and relative competence is poor and the count reducing with the time of teaching, so the contradiction that little teaching count and student's bad foundation appears in teaching too. With these questions and challenges, reform traditional teaching method and trying new teaching method have been already mentioned to the agenda of the reform in education. For this reason, we put forward "mastery learning" theory from famous education psychologist Bloom U.S.A. (B.S.Bloom) and "mastery learning teaching methodology" for teaching based on this theory to education methodologies of professional technique teaching."Mastery learning" teaching methodology is a kind of teaching way that student grasps study material under the best teaching with enough time condition. The new thought is an ordinary teacher during the collective teaching of the ordinary class among them, Teaching material divide into unit, it carries on teaching according to teaching goal and go on forming test thereupon, Through feedback, correction the question existing in student's study and goes on one time of parallel the forming tests of quality to determine the degree that student mastered. So, it brings into play to the advantage of traditional classroom instruction, look after the student's individual differences also, and make most students obtain the fine school grade.This text adopts document materials method, questionnaire investigation method, test method, teaching contrast method and the statistic in number method and takes hurdle race as the example lesson Physical Culture Institute of Shan Dong Normal University, compare the mastery learning teaching methodology and traditional teaching with the experiment.
