This article aims at inquiring into how to do some research study in the course of history in middle schools not only based on the research study in NO. 1 High School, but also based on pedagogy, educational psychology and history. Meanwhile it uses some document research, teaching practice and historical investigation, which includes seven sections.Section I Understanding of research study & definitions and theories by educationists both in and abroad.Section II Brief introduction to present senior history research study.Section III Summarizing the features and functions of history research study.It is a course of development and an involuntary way of study. The students should learn the basic views and ways of historical materialism. Theories should be produced out of history and at the same time connected with history. The students should also try to find questions from different angles of view and actively further study the ways of solving problems. Above all, they should form the habit of thinking for themselves, cooperate, study and communicate with others, especially with people holding different views.Section IV Dealing with class teaching design of carrying out research study in history teaching. It includes the fixed position of teaching aim, the display and implement of teaching styles, the tactics and principals in teaching and so on. It will use some teaching examples to illustrate or explain its feasibility and rationalization.Section V Commenting on the fixed position of the history teachers in history research study.Teachers are no longer persons of authority for the students to learn. Instead he or she has become the choice of the students. Teachers should transfer from teaching only into teaching and research together; from individual teaching into cooperative teaching.Section VI Dealing with the developing of history research study.As for the teachers function, he or she should provide the students with reading materials pay special attention to designing questions and searching for doubts, strengthen the instructive way of study; infiltrate the sense of history, embody the angles of the times and so on.Section VII Thinking over the research study practice in history teaching again. It puts forward higher and overall demands for teachers. In order to make the students bring forth the new ideas and develop their creative ability, teachers should break traditional ways, improve all abilities of their own and perform the demands of new courses standard.
