Modern society is tending towards information society .The basic factors of information society are material, energy and information. And information is more important. People must learn how to deal with all kinds of information in order to understand the world better especially digital information. Collecting, managing and analyzing information have been a part of basic quality of every people in information times.Probability and Statistics mainly study the date in real life and random phenomena in objective world, which helps people make reasonable presumption and prophesy through collecting, describing and analyzing the data, and a probable depicting of the events. Probability and Statistics, a kind of special thinking method, has been used in many fields in modern society. The educational value of it has been realized by international society and has become an overwhelming international trend. The coming out of the course standard of math for middle school makes statistics and probability become one of the four fields of math curriculum of compulsory school stage in our country. So paying attention to teachers' understanding of the Probability and Statistics is the main reason why the writer studies the teaching of Probability and Statistics in normal colleges.This article discusses the importance of the probability and statistics in information society and the necessity of setting up it in compulsory school stage, beginning with its educational value and new curriculum standard; it analyzing the present situations and existing problems of the course of Probability and Statistics in normal colleges. It proposes some ideas of how to revolute the curriculum of "Probability and Statistics " and how to improve the teaching in classroom; it gives an example of class teaching and analyzes it deeply. Studying the class teaching of the Probability and Statistics in normal colleges under new curriculum revolution can help us realize the educational value of the statistics and probability, understand the content standard and request of basic educational curriculum, improve the class teaching of the Probability and Statistics, cultivate new teachers who can fit for new teaching requests. I hope it can improve the class teaching of the Probability and Statistics in normal colleges.
