A Study On The Ideological And Working Style Construction Of Collegiate Leadership

Centering around the great significance of the ideological and working style construction of collegiate leadership, the present paper first of all analyzes the problems to be solved to meet the new requirements ensuing from the new changes and features occurring in the domestic and international situations, and then explores the basic implications, characteristics, status quos and strategies with regard to the strengthening of the ideological and working style construction of collegiate leadership.This thesis consists of four parts:The first part, an answer to the question of why the ideological and working style construction of collegiate leadership should be strenghened, addresses the new requirements resulting from the new changes and features that are emerging in the domestic and international situations, only to arrive at the conclusion that the ideological and working style construction of collegiate leadership demands enhancing in order to respond to the new changes in the domestic and international situations, to the effort of promoting reform and development in higher education and to the self-construction of collegiate leadership.The second part deals with the basic implications and characteristics of the ideological and working style construction of collegiate leadership. The former are represented by the guideline of "emancipate mind and seek truth from facts", the awareness of "be steadfast in our political belief and be perceptive to the macro-situation", the spirit of "be realistic, practical and creative", the notion of "be diligent and clean in administration, and be united and harmonius"; the latter are exemplified the integration of reality and futurity, of wholeness and singleness, of self-discipline and imposed discipline, of promptness and regularity. This analysis provides a clear direction as to how to strengthen and improve the ideological and working style construction of collegiate leadership.The third part examines the present situation of the ideological and working style construction of collegiate leadership. After examining the achievements made in the ideological and working style construction of collegiate leadership, it probes the problems and corresponding contributing factors, thus laying solid grounds for proposing strategies to strengthen and innovate the ideological and working style construction of collegiate leadership.The fourth part is mainly concerned with the specific strategies applicable to strengthening and innovating the ideological and working style construction of collegiate leadership, among which the major ones are: strengthening study, promoting awareness, consolidating the construction of democratic and centralizing system, upholding and consummating the Party committee-led university president responsibility system, improving leadership's planning and decision-making ability, enhancing the future-oriented construction of leadership-in-store. These studies offer clear and specific measures as to how to reinforce and improve the ideological and working style construction of collegiate leadership.
