| Higher vocational education is an important part of higher education in China. Its aim is to cultivate the person with professional ability that can adapt the work of production, construction, management and service. Since 21th's century, with the great development of higher education, the scale of higher vocational education in our country has been getting bigger and bigger.Higher vocational education has tight contact with the structure of social economy and industry. After China entered WTO, the structure of economy and industry will change, and the international competition has new and higher requirement to the quality of the person with ability. Higher vocational education is facing the chance of development and the grimness challenge. How to reform and improve the quality of the person with ability and how to adapt the requirement of WTO is the problem that higher vocational education must to be faced.Through the analysis and study about the development and character of higher vocational education and promise of education service made by China government, the paper enucleate that the chance higher vocational education meet, such as developing space, utilization of resource, construction of system, reform of education, international cooperation. The paper also point out the challenge that higher vocational education face in many aspect, such as improper conception of instruction, low quality of the student's source, dissatisfied quality of the graduate, inapposite teacher's troop, improper provision of specialty and curriculum and low efficiency of moral education, etc.The paper reaches a series of conclusion of countermeasure by analyzing the problem that higher vocational education face. First, we should set the proper conception of instruction adapting the rules of WTO, including the educational market concept, service concept, international standard concept, and compete concept. Second, we should realize the proper position of higher vocational education and form it's characteristic to bring into play its dominance, enhance the theory's research on higher vocational education and put intopractice combination learning with production. Third, we should set the proper aim about vocational education, reform the structure of the teacher's troop and the provision of specialty and curriculum, establish reasonable system of evaluation and improve the efficiency of moral education in school. Fourth, we should establish reasonable system of higher vocational education, grasp the chance of joining WTO, perfect the system of identification, and balance the position of professional qualification and diploma education to meet the international requirement. |
