In the context of the country vigorously develop vocational education, vocational colleges inShandong Province, after ten years of rapid development, both from the School of the number orscale of enrollment has made leaps and bounds. Vocational colleges as higher education andvocational education synthetic shoulder specialized training high-quality, high-skill talent. Withthe increasing demand for regional economic development professionals, the economiccharacteristics of the service area vocational colleges are increasingly apparent. Facingrecruitment difficulties in social, employment difficulties paradox, vocational colleges,professional adjustment, strengthen management, in order to embark on the road of the sustainedand healthy development. In this paper, by analyzing the current development status of vocationalcolleges in Shandong Province, and put forward a strategy to promote the development of highereducation in Shandong Province.This article is mainly the use of the new public management theory in the publicadministration; the management of higher vocational colleges to put forward new ideas, the text isdivided into six parts:The first part is the introduction, the analysis of the reasons for and significance of the topic,review analysis of the domestic and foreign research status of vocational education, and relatedconcepts such as: defining vocational education, vocational colleges positioning vocationaleducation model.The second part of the management system of vocational colleges, from the point of view ofmacro-and micro-analysis of the existing management system. The introduction of new publicmanagement theory, expounded the basic idea of the new public management theory, and analysisof the applicability of theory in the management of higher vocational colleges, the final summaryof the application of ideas.The third part of the analysis of the development status of vocational colleges in ShandongProvince. Focused analysis of the development of the vocational colleges in Shandong, thedevelopment of regional economic situation, policy documents to promote the development ofvocational colleges to invest as well in recent years, Shandong Province Vocational trends.The fourth part, mainly analyzes the existing problems in the development of vocationalcolleges in Shandong Province. From the point of view of both the macro and micro analysis,analysis of the problems in the management system, and the institutions themselves development.The fifth part of the successful model of the typical development of vocational colleges canlearn from the experience of the development of Chinese vocational colleges.The sixth part, combined with the development of vocational colleges in Shandong Province,proposed the development of countermeasures. Combined with new public management theory,innovation management system; increase investment in education; controlling the scale ofdevelopment; accelerate the construction of teachers; to improve personnel training mechanism.
