The countryside educational movement that springs up in 1920s and 1930s ,which attempted to establish a kind of educational system that suits the reality of Chinese countryside with great efforts, corrected the modern educational pattern focusing on city western , and it taked out many resolution plan for many abuse of countryside education , and has achieved very much in experimental district.The educators, who advocated the movement ,aimed at reconstruct China and countryside by educational reform, so that realizes the revival of Chinese and melt into international modern civilization.Under the background Liang Shuming's countryside educational theory was formed and developed based on exploration and attempt which stress the heritage of Chinese traditional culture,and make western civilization take root to bloom.Therefore Liang Shuming's countryside educational theory has its unique character and rich meaning, which is of reference and enlightenment for us to implement the strategy of reviving the nation by science and education ,and to advance educational reform in countryside areas.With the method of literature analysis ,the research summarizes Liang Shuming's countryside educational theory systematically. Through analyzing the background of Liang Shuming's countryside educational thought, the author intends to understand the social and economic contradiction and ideological cultural crisis of Liang Shuming's countryside educational theory.The thesis elaborates the formation and development of Liang Shuming's countryside educational theory, points out it was the unique experience and cultural thought that determined Liang Shuming's knowledge of education in countryside areas, insists upon that Confucianist is the theoretics basis of Liang Shuming's theory ,the criticism of the fault of New Educational Movement , offered the realistic opportunity of Liang Shuming's countryside educational theory, that the effect of western ideological and Danish education pour new vigour into his theory system, and that the practice of educationist of the same period, have also accelerated Liang Shuming's step of contributing countryside construction. The thesisintroduced the design and basic view of Liang Shuming's countryside educational practice.By the combination of the social reality, which Liang Shuming lived ,the thesis appraise objectively its success and failure , appreciates Liang Shuming for his clearheaded towards traditional and modem problem, as well as the breakthrough and innovation of his countryside educational theory and practice, generally sums up modem value of Liang Shuming's theory and practice , including the theoretical frame and pattern option of the joint of politics and education, farmers' voluntary and intellectual input , the unfold of education spiritual introduction ,the resumption of education based on social standard, the attempt and introduction of creative education etc. The research aiming problems of Chinese countryside education nowdays, summarizes briefly the realistic hint of countryside educational theory and practice of Liang Shuming. The focal of the research lies in summarizing the origin and development of countryside educational theory and practice, and the difficulty lies in to excavating the modem value of countryside educational theory and practice of Liang Shuming.
