The ultimate objective of education is to promote the full development of human beings. With humanism accepted by more and more people, they ask more of education, and hope that humans can be developed as much as possible through it. As a unique and important component of school education, physics involves teaching students how to think which brings profound and lasting influence on students. Appealing to the duck-filling method in order to help students get high marks in exams, traditional physics teaching method fails to implement its educational functions and has been questioned by people. Under such circumstances, it has been drawing much attention to seek a new effective teaching method in place of the traditional one.The author of this thesis has tried a new physics teaching method by which most middle school students can be fully developed as well as the talent students. Incorporating knowledge on history of physics in teaching is a feasible approach to the problems arising in traditional physics teaching method. Firstly, knowledge on history of physics is so interesting that it inspirits the students into studying physics actively. Secondly, it helps students know the track of the origin, development of physics, and find out the rules of studying physics, and acquire knowledge from a strategically advantageous position.Introduction of physics history makes a different in physics teaching method. Teaching is combination of contents and methods. Consequentially, introduction of new contents calls for reform of teaching method. The introduction of physics history helps to optimize students' thinking mode, which is theoretically on the basic of constructionism, which acknowledge the role of students as the subject in teaching and learning, acknowledge the objectivity of knowledge. To meet different...
