Physical education is very important for the growth and development of senior middle school students. The application of the history of physics is helpful for students to understand the general discipline of the development of each branch of physics, master the ideas and research methods of the subject, have a deeper understanding of physical concepts, and develop stronger interest in learning physics. In terms of educational reform, the new version of textbook for senior middle school students has integrated more knowledge related to the history of physics. Moreover, the exam questions for each year’s college entrance examination would examine students’ understanding of the history of physics.Under such background, this paper studies the combination of the history of physics and senior middle schools’teaching of physics. The analysis is focused on the humanistic psychology,Piaget’s cognition occurrence theory and Kuhn’s scientific revolution theory, providing a scientific basis for the combination of the history of physics and physics teaching. Then the role of the combination is expounded, after which some cases are analyzed to illustrate how to effectively integrate the history of physics into physics teaching. In their practical teaching work, physics teachers in senior middle schools should properly use the knowledge about the history of physics in classes,so as to impart the knowledge to students in a "pervasive" way.Meanwhile, these teachers should also pay attention to improving their teaching ability and quality, and read and explore more material about the history of physics,so as to give the best play to the effect of the history of physics in physics teaching.
