Credibility, which is one of the long-standing traditional virtues in the 5000-year history of China and one of the basic standards of the contemporary civic virtues, should be carried on and forward by college students. Credibility education of college students is a systematic project, which includes fostering of the ideal, cultivation of the quality, establishment of new credibility education system, social practice and perfection of ethical personality. The essay tries to bring forward new ideas and measures from the angle of efficiency and optimization of credibility education, based on other research achievements. It includes four parts altogether.The first part demonstrates the importance of credibility education of college students from three aspects. First, college students should carry on and forward the splendid civilization and virtues of China. Second, cultivation of credibility should be included in the full development of college students. Third, credibility education of college students is necessary to build the socialist modernization and a well-off society in an all-round way.The second part dialectically analyzes the current situation of credibility education of college students. It mainly explores the achievements and problems.The third part, comprehensively analyzes causes of non-credit behavior of college students and problems in moral education. The investigation, based on the current situation of credibility, detects the causes from different aspects including social environment, moral education in colleges, family and character of college students by the means of questionnaire. It helps to seek the measures to solve the problems.The forth part, which is the key of the essay, provides constructive suggestions to strengthen credibility education of college students. First, fully recognize the value of credibility education in order to keep pace with the times and moral promotion. Second, strength the promotion of credit culture and the establishment of credit ideology of college students using achievements in moral education at all times and in all over the world for reference. Third, improve the credibility education system and increase the efficiency of credibility education. Finally, optimize the social environment for credibility education.
