In the course of practicing quality education, "all life studyn nowadays has become an inevitable social trend. The rapid development of information technology characterized by digit and network increasingly manifests how important it is to cultivate the middle school students' self-taught ability. More than all, middle school math has high precision and abstract. The stage of middle school is the best time to build up the students' self-taught ability in learning math because they are just at the best age to develop capabilities. Learn to study independently, in the sense of growth and in the long run, is more important than acquire certain knowledge and skills.Self-taught ability refers to one' s power to acquire knowledge without help. It is a comprehensive ability which combines a person' s various intellectual factors and requires the play of different psychological mechanism. This ability in math is: a student, in the course of learning math independently, can, on the basis of his current math knowledge and at the mercy of his perception, convert the external math knowledge system into internal knowledge system, thus causing changes in the structure of math knowledge and forming new knowledge system. In Chinese ancient, modern and contemporary times, almost all the knowledgeable educators paid much attention to lead the students to learn by themselves. Through questionnaire sheets, pertinent interviews, documentaries and emulation classes, by right of years' teaching experience and incessant exploration, practice and study, I put forward the method of "Happiness-Reading-Thinking-Creating" to cultivate the middle school students' self-taught ability.In accordance with the age character of the middle school students, let happiness lead and instruct reading, thinking and creating. Make the students unaware of fatigue, interested in study, more clever and skillful through study so that they can gradually learn to teach themselves actively and creatively. Make sure the students can acquire knowledge and developabilities in the state of "mind liberty and safety". Let the students become the masters of study and form the good habit of studiousness. Create conditions in order that the students can think independently and explore positively. Let the students read and understand where knowledge comes from and how do it develop, put forward their puzzlements and form unique opinions and novel ideas. Through mind collision, cooperative study, comparison and debate, instruct the students detect the differences and seek after excellence, create new and original things, dare to raise and good at asking questions, learn to go to the bottom of things, create by cooperation, and form innovation spirit and ability. First supported by, then led by the teachers and finally taught by themselves, the students can read and shoot troubles independently and form self-taught ability.The method which is aimed at practicing quality education and based on democratic andcooperative teaching relations, with the teaching program-study instruction-as its masterstroke." Happiness" runs through the cultivation of the middle school students' self-taught ability,"Reading" being the base, "Thinking" being the core and "Creating" the soul.realizesthe promotion of the students' self-taught ability as well as their comprehensive qualitiesthrough optimization and combination of various factors of teaching system. I believe that thepractice and study in nurturing the middle school students' self-taught ability will surely havemighty vitality and brilliant prospect.
