The thesis aims to discuss the teaching method and its significance of mini-story writing in middle school. The paper includes four parts. The first part introduces the way and the methods in recognition of mini-story in style. The second part discusses how to teach mini-story writing effectively. Part three puts forward the strategies of training and last part is conclusion dealing with the purpose and importance of this writing in middle schools.In part one, the author argues that before their writing, students should gain both theoretical and practical understanding to this genre and build up a sense of style in their writing. After that, a teaching plan could be made. According to the relationship between writing and reading and the final aim of reading, the plan should be carried out in the following procedures combined with the recognition laws of the students. Firstly, students should be given enough reading practice to make a primary realization of the genre. Secondly, base on the principles of insensitivity, simplicity and effectiveness, theoretical analysis should be conducted in the teaching so as to strengthen students' understanding of the genre.Part two begins with the discussion of teaching method of mini-story writing among middle school students from perspectives of general law of composition and unique law of mini-story. Firstly the general law of composition is analyzed and the writing course is planed which is used to guide the students in their imitative writing. Then according to the laws of mini-story writing, effective teaching method of writing is discussed with the consideration of the participation of students in their writing of ending and plots of mini-stories.Part three is concerned with practical skills needed in writing course. Detailed discussion on each part of a mini-story is undertaken for the sake of preparation in writing a mini-story as a whole. Strategies of how to encourage students in their writing process is discussed.The last part of the thesis aims to analyze the purpose and significance of writing mini-story in middle school. The author argues that such a practice may trigger the imagination and constructing competence of the students. What's more, their creative motivation and creativity is aroused and as a result, a sense of genre would be built up in their minds.
