As a leading document for the overall of the curriculum, it is the center focus tounderstand the curriculum standard. The basic system for reformation of educationalcurriculum is closely related to the standard of the curriculum, thus make this the heart ofthe development.Especially after the third reformation for science curriculum, the new shape anddevelopment of the integrated curriculum for science expands from the detailed contentsand education materials to the curriculum standard of country and area. Thus, thisresearch chooses the curriculum standard from few of the representable countries andcomparable areas with Mainland China. Through analyzing the reformation and trend ofinternational science education, with curriculum theories, curriculum goals, and curriculumcontents, make it meaningful and interesting to compare. Explore the uniqueness of thosecountries'curriculum standards, useful information and experience can be gained andadapted. This information will provide international stepping-stones for the research oflocal secondary science curriculum. It will also improve the development of the integratedscience curriculum.This thesis paper consists three parts. The first part, 'opening discussion'explains andprovide definition for two phrases that frequently used in this paper: integrated sciencecurriculum and curriculum standard. The second part, 'background information ofworldwide science curriculum'analyses and oversees the uniqueness and history of thescience curriculum standard from United States, Britain, Canada, Taiwan, Hong Kong andChina. Explore the reformation from those countries'secondary science curriculumstandard, for the purpose and background for research. The third part, 'compare andcontrast the worldwide science curriculum standard'is the heart of this thesis paper. Withthe fundamental theories from those countries, it is plausible to compare and explore itsstrengths and weaknesses with each other. With all those information gained, there will behints, spaces and reasons for further research on this interesting topic.
