Content:Environmental protection is our basic national policy. Environment education is the most important issue in the 21st century. By means of consulting data, questionnaire and combining personal teaching experiences, the writer carries out a research into the relevant problems on environment education in middle school chemistry teaching. The result of the research shows that the science of chemistry has much in common with the science of environment and they are quite relevant to each other. Developing environment education in chemistry teaching enables students to realize the occurrence, dangers and the prevention and cure measures of various kinds of environmental pollution. It helps to cultivate the students' proper environmental value and the value of durable development. Therefore, environment education in middle school chemistry teaching is necessary and practicable. There are four sections in this paper. In section one (chapter 1), the environment and the environmental problems are introduced. Meanwhile, the relation between chemistry teaching and environment education are related. In addition, the necessity and the practicability of environment education in middle school chemistry teaching are analyzed. In section two (chapter2-4), environment education goals, education contents , teaching principles and teaching approaches are related. The ways of carrying out environment education in chemistry teaching by means of classroom teaching, experiments and extracurricular activities are also described. Furthermore, the writer tells us how to ensure the environment education put into effect by applying the evaluation system in chemistry education. Section three (chapter5) shows us the writer's teaching practice. The teaching practice indicates that middle school chemistry teaching is a very important way in environment education in middle school. In section four (chapter6), the writer reconsiders the problem in this paper and suggests the goals for the future research.
