Modernity, a static concept, is the essential characteristic of the modern- izational course . It is a set of value system used to measure the lever of modernization. Educational modernity is new spirit and characteristic of the modern times, a new kind of value system ,which obtained in the course from the traditional education to the modern education.The educational modernity of Chinese is the inherent characteristic of the educational modernization of Chinese, different from traditional education of Chinese,which mainly includes scientificity, democracy, and secularity .The course of the educational modernization of Chinese is above- mentioned three factors whose modernity has been accumulating and obtaining constantly . The educational modernity of Chinese is that kernel and pursuing value of the educational modernization of Chinese ,which is also the scale of value to examinize the educational modernization of Chinese. Educational modernity of Chinese and Chinese educational modernization complete each other, and grow to coexist with each other.Educational modernity of Chinese in China started when Chinese language was set up as a subject independently in 1904. Since then,the teaching of Chinese language has been moving towards its scientificity, democracy and secularity. In the end it began to reach its essential attribute : a kind of tool. The educational modernity of Chinese is a kind of value system mainly based upon scientificity, democracy and secularity of education of Chinese language .Scientificity of Chinese educate requires its idea , aim and process etc. to pursue values or spirits of science, which shows that the education of Chinese language seeks for the truth.Democracy in education of Chinese language should be paid attention to permeate democratic consciousness and democratic spirit in the whole process of teaching, which shows it has been in the pursuit of the " good ".Secularity in education of Chinese language requires its teaching be full of humane cared, paid close attention to reality of social life , and care about the individual's life value. During its teaching process, educators should take ^people into consideration first ", care about students' experience of life , foundation of knowledge, emotion world , independent consciousness and creativity , which shows that it has been in the pursuit of the " beauty". Based upon the educational modernity of Chinese, we can deepen the understanding in the educational modernization of Chinese rationally , can reflect upon its practice , can analyse and obtain the essentials of its theory and practice from deeper aspect.
