The classic poem is an outstanding representative of Chinese traditional culture. It has an enormous function in affecting students' emotions, shaping the personality, inspiring the thought, fostering the inspiration, and gestating the creativity. And all these are also the meaning of classic poem teaching. But teachers have wrong ideas in understanding the meaning of teaching traditional poem, which has prevented the classic poem from affecting students to a great degree. The Constructivism theory can provide the very viable theoretic foundation to realize these functions,which is mainly reflected in the following ways: 1.To develop the students' subjectivity well, and make the students achieve the construction of significance by their active feeling. We call this kind of subjective feeling sense of language. Teachers may make students develop the ability of apperceiving the language of classic poem in a sharp way by inducting students to listen, read, accumulate, experience and contrast, as a result help them make a strong foundation to realize the construction of significance. 2. To show respect for the individuality in reading, and to lead and encourage them to make various and creative reading, setting up their own perfect personality when conversing with reading material creatively.
