Objective: The experiment is to study the Influence of Opuntia Milpa Alta on the exhausted swimming time and biochemical index of blood and organs of mice, probe into the Anti-Movement-Fatigue function and possible mechanism of Opuntia Milpa Alta and offer the theoretical foundation for its development and application in the field of sports activity. Methods: 80 male ICR mice (aged 4 weeks) were divided into 2 groups: 20 mice are sedentary control group (SC), 60 mice are physical training group (PT). SC group were divided into 2 groups equally: SC group were fed with basic diet (SCB), SC group were fed with synthetic diet containing Opuntia Milpa Alta (SCO). PT group were divided into two groups equally too: PT group were fed with basic diet (PTB), PT group were fed with synthetic diet containing Opuntia Milpa Alta (PTO). PT group had swimming training without load for 7 weeks: swam 30 minutes every day in the first week, progressively increased for 10 minutes every week afterwards, swam 90 minutes every day by the seventh week. Wrote down the diet amount every day in the experiment course, and measured mice weight every week before and in the experiment separately, amount to 8 times. At the 50th day 40 mice of PT group had exhausted swimming without load, then we wrote down the exhausted swimming time. After the last swimming training, we fetch liver and skeletal muscle of SC group and PT group after collecting the blood of eye artery. We collected blood after dividing PT group into three states : quietly(PTQ), immediately after exhausted swimming(PTI) and 24 hours rest after exhausted swimming(PTR). We measured the activity of serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), glucose (Gluc), urea nitrogen (BUN), lactic acid (LA) in the blood, the content of hepatic and muscular glycogen, the activity of the superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) in the liver and skeletal muscle. Results: 1.There is no significant difference in the diet amount among the mice of every group after statistical analysis of the data. 2. The increasing degree of the SC group's weight was greater than PT group. There is no significant difference in the weight both PTB and PTO group. 3. The exhausted swimming time of PTO was longer than PTB. 4. The LDH activity of PTO was higher than PTB both PTQ and PTR. The BUN content of PTO was lower than PTB both PTQ and PTR. The LD content of PTO was lower than PTB among PTQ JPTI and PTR. 5. The SOD activity of PTO's liver and skeletal muscle was higher than PTB among PTQ ,PTI and PTR. The MDA content of PTO's liver and skeletal muscle was lower than PTB among PTQ ,PTI and PTR.Conclusions: Opuntia Milpa Alta prolonged the exhausted swimming time of mice notably, strengthened the LDH activity, accelerated the removing of the LA and BUN, strengthened the SOD activity of liver and skeletal muscle, accelerated the removing of the MDA content of liver and skeletal muscle, demonstrated positive Anti-Movement-Fatigue function. We inferred one of Anti-Movement-Fatigue mechanism was that Opuntia Milpa Alta could increase the exercise ability and load adaptive capacity of the organism and accelerate the removing of metabolites.
